About gretyl

Two lose their way. And find it again.

Today, losing your way often happens not in the forest, but in your head.

Why gretyl?

The name comes from an old story. Two children in the forest. They lose their way – and find it again.

Today, that no longer happens in the forest. It happens in our heads. In everyday life, in routines, in thoughts that go round in circles.

gretyl is a place for exactly these moments. For people who want to get out – through movement, nature, paths, small adventures, retreat and sometimes through working together.

Not to solve everything. But to set off.

What guides us
  • Setting off
  • Being allowed to get lost
  • Leaving traces
  • Finding your own way
  • Movement as a trigger for change
  • New perspectives
  • Not having to solve everything – but starting
What connects it all

People step out of their familiar surroundings, walk a path – and discover something along the way.

About the path, about nature or about themselves.

The forest and the fairy tale

provide the imagery.

The paths

provide the experience.

The cards

provide the symbolism.

The stones

provide the real trail.

Base camp and mountain house

provide the starting point.

The workshops

carry it over into work and business.

And gretyl ties it all together.

The second forest

Not every forest has trees.

For many companies, it’s their own IT: grown over time, full of nooks and crannies, criss-crossed by paths nobody knows any more. What holds true in the Black Forest holds true there too.

“gretyl leads you through the dark forests of today’s business world, destroys the witches of old thinking – and creates new worlds.”

Set out.

… leads you through the dark forests

Exploring systems, processes and paths – including the ones nobody knows any more.

Leave behind.

… destroys the witches of old thinking

Replacing legacy systems and leaving behind patterns of thought that no longer hold.

Begin anew.

… creates new worlds

Rethinking architectures and solutions – and building them anew.

In the story, it’s Gretel who outwits the witch with her cleverness. That’s our magic: technology that clears the paths again.

From the Black Forest

Real, not made up

gretyl is at home in St. Blasien, in the heart of the Black Forest. And everything we show really exists: real paths, real stones, real experiences, real photos, real GPX data.

Mystique yes – esotericism no. Symbolism, mystery, traces and discovery. But always with both feet on the forest floor.
